Senior Center Programs & Activities

Daily Congregate Meals

Nutritious congregate meals have been served by LHANC throughout Miami-Dade County since 1972. With 13 current locations, meals are provided to approximately 1,100 unduplicated seniors daily. These meals are designed to provide 1/3 of an elderly person's daily nutritional needs.

Enhanced Fitness

Our Enhanced Fitness Program helps older adults stay active, improve balance and strength, and reduce the risk of falls. Regular physical activity also supports heart health, mobility, and overall well-being while empowering seniors to maintain their independence and enjoy a higher quality of life.

Nutritional Counseling

Our registered dietitians provide personalized nutrition counseling to help you achieve your health goals. We focus on creating sustainable lifestyle changes, not quick fixes.

High-Risk Nutrition Program

If you have a chronic health condition, we can help you manage it. Our team works closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs. Individuals who qualify receive an additional seven (7) meals per week.

Manejo Personal De La Diabetes

Our “Manejo Personal de la Diabetes” classes, funded through the Older Americans Act, empower seniors to take an active role in managing their diabetes. By providing the knowledge and tools needed to manage their condition, these classes help older adults build confidence, improve their health, and maintain a better quality of life.

Tomando Control De Su Salud

Our “Tomando Control de su Salud” workshops, funded through the Older Americans Act, help seniors take an active role in managing their overall health. Through interactive classes, participants learn practical strategies to manage chronic conditions, improve communication with healthcare providers, stay physically active, and make healthier lifestyle choices.

Screening Assessments

Our Screening Assessments help seniors stay on top of their health by identifying potential issues early. They ensure each participant is meeting their nutritional and physical needs and can also help them potentially qualify for additional supportive services, connecting seniors to the resources they need for healthier, more independent living.

Music, Art and Recreation

Our Music, Arts, and Recreation Program brings joy, creativity, and connection to our senior centers. Many of our participants love to take the stage for karaoke, sing their favorite songs, and get moving on the dance floor. These activities not only provide fun and entertainment but also encourage social interaction, boost mood, and keep our seniors active and engaged.

Dominos, Bingo & Table Games

At our senior centers, Dominos, Bingo, and table games are a favorite way for participants to have fun, socialize, and keep their minds sharp. Whether it’s a friendly competition or just laughing with friends, these games bring joy, connection, and a little healthy challenge to every day!
